by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Thursday, 01 May 2008

Arabian Travel News asks Amadeus Gulf general manager Ghulam Saleh Al Bloushi and Sabre Travel Network Middle East chief executive office Daniel Naoumovitch about their plans for ATM.

What have you got planned for your stand at ATM?

Al Bloushi: This is our seventh year at ATM and we are looking forward to a successful show. On display will be Amadeus solutions for travel agencies, airlines and hotels.

Delegates will be able to experience and see the benefits and features of these solutions through a live demo at the Amadeus stand.

Naoumovitch: We will be offering a fully-fledged Sabre system IT interface, allowing visitors to be hands on and try out our online computer reservations GDS.

We will also be offering a series of informal Meet the Sabre Management Team sessions, where our three regional managers will be available to discuss Sabre, its products and markets and future plans, as well as answering questions.

What are you hoping to achieve at ATM?

Al Bloushi: Through the exhibition we hope to reinforce our position as a leading technology provider of marketing, distribution and IT services to the travel and hospitality industry.

ATM enables us to educate the visitors and potential customers about our businesses and create awareness of our new products for the travel, airline and hospitality industries.

Naoumovitch: ATM is a prime opportunity for us to maximise our exposure to customers - existing and potential - as well as the media.

We will be networking with existing and potential customers giving them the chance to discuss their needs and for us to tell them how we can fulfil them.

We will be focussing on Travel Market Agreements (TMA) throughout the region as well as strengthening our ties with the regional airlines.

What assistance do you plan on offering to the local travel trade at the exhibition?

Al Bloushi: With the regional airlines soon adopting a 0% commission model, its impact will be felt among regional travel agents.
