There are 28 new entries in this year’s Arabian Business Expat Power 50, due for publication on Monday August 16.
The list counts down the 50 most influential non-Arabs living and working in the GCC, and was first published in 2009.
High-profile returnees on the 2010 list include last year’s number one, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority executive Jean Paul Villain, Etihad CEO James Hogan, and Landmark Group chairman Mukesh Jagtiani.
There are a total of 14 nationalities represented in this year’s list, working in 13 sectors across the six GCC states.
“Competition for entry onto this year’s list has been fierce, and a number of big names have dropped out as a result,” said Anil Bhoyrul, editorial director of ITP Executive Publishing, publisher of Arabian Business.
“It has taken us longer than ever to settle on a final 50, and some surprising names have been thrown into the mix, but we are happy that we have found the biggest expatriate players in the Gulf.”
