CBQ's net profit was down 13 percent in the first half of this year, but coming out $225m in the black is still pretty good going for a bank that hopes to expand its offerings in the months and years to come. It currently boasts 24 full service branches, 8 full service Islamic branches, 144 ATMs and 4800 points of sale, but that is expected to rise dramatically. The bank will also be expanding its relatively small workforce - which stands at 1241 - but it's this tight rein on staffing that allows MD Hussain Al Fardan to bring in an impressive $181,305 from each of his employees.

Saudi Kayan - Losses in 1H 2010
Posted by Raymond Tiruchelvam, Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia on 28 September 2010 at 09:33 UAE time

Saudi Kayan although being a 4 year old company, only started commercial production operations in August 2010, and thus recorded losses in the earlier period. The profit shown in 2008 basically represents commissions earned from the IPO funds while the plant was being constructed. This should be reflected accordingly in the comments.
