Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, participation in this event is foreseen as huge.
Bringing together some of the finest minds both from the region and abroad, it is perhaps fitting that it is to be held at the Meydan Hotel, Nad Al Sheba: translated from Arabic, “Meydan” means ‘meeting place’ and this is precisely what will be taking place there from 13th – 17th March inclusive; a meeting of minds, ideas, experience and knowledge.
A one-of-a-kind event, with medical professionals from over 30 countries attending, this conference will combine the talents and forces of numerous Surgical Societies to produce a collaborative, mammoth surgical event at which every participant will uncover something of interest. Areas covered will include but by no means be limited to: hepatobiliary surgery, surgical gastroenterology, bariatric and metabolic surgery, breast surgery, trauma, cosmetic surgery, endocrine surgery, vascular surgery, intensive care and hernia surgery.
With a faculty of international experts in their varied specialities and leading thinkers and innovators from every sub speciality of general surgery, the conference offers options to the participants to select factors of the greatest interest to them.
To ensure maximum interest and participation, there will be scientific sessions, surgical workshops, master classes, poster sessions, panel discussions, expert sessions and keynote speeches given by eminent faculty from around the world.
The International College of Surgeons will be awarding fellowships to its new fellows during this conference and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow, UK, will be holding the Admission Ceremony to confer the membership of the college upon those surgeons from the region who are successful in the MRCS examination. An achievement award will also be given to some eminent retired surgeons in the region deemed to have left a mark on their field and helped make surgery what it is in the region today.
Companies and medical service providers will be given the opportunity to exhibit their products and technological advances in the medical world.
AMESCON is set to establish itself as the prime surgical event in the region. The quality of content in its scientific programs is of such a high calibre that the surgical community in the region will look forward to it in the years to come. The active participation of the Royal Colleges, several universities and academic societies makes AMESCON unique in its concept and presentation.
The Organising and Scientific Committee of this Conference is composed of distinguished thought leaders from every sub speciality of general surgery in this region and beyond. In attendance, will be over 1,000 professional medical staff from all levels of expertise, including general surgeons, breast surgeons, vascular surgeons, trauma surgeons, gastroenterologists, cosmetic surgeons, paediatric and vascular surgeons, medical students, nurses, operating room technicians and health policy makers, to name just a few.
