Al Rashed Building Materials is a division of Rashed Al Rashed and Sons Group, an organisation specialised in trading, manufacturing, contracting, property and investment. Its materials division (BMD) is a wholesale provider of products including wood, cement, steel and other construction related items to the Saudi Arabia. The company sells the products to its customers through a distribution network consisting of 40 branches across KSA and the Middle East. BMD also imports products from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and America. The Rashed Al Rashed and Sons Group was founded as a building materials trading business in 1950 and soon diversified into a multi-faceted conglomerate. The group has also branched out into the PMV sector with the establishment of Sascom, a provider of spare parts for heavy duty construction machinery, trucks and oil and gas drilling equipment. The company stocks in excess of 50,000 spare part items for well known brands, such as Caterpillar, Kemper, Midking and Donalson.
