Launched as an earthenware factory in 1817, Gemany-headquartered Duravit has evolved into a global supplier of sanitary ceramics, bathroom furniture, baths and spa products. From its headquarters in Hornberg in the Black Forest, the company currently employs over 5000 staff in more than 80 countries, and manufactures at ten production sites in seven countries. Over the last 20 years, Duravit has partnered with leading names in design, such as Philippe Starck, Sieger Design, Eoos, Phoenix Design and Lord Norman Foster, to develop bathroom and wellness products that offer aesthetic value, as well as durability and value for money. Duravit has also been involved in some of the highest profile projects in the Middle East, including the Burj Khalifa, to which it supplied its ‘barrel’ vanity unit, designed by Philippe Starck in 1994. Its best-selling product, Duravit has supplied a total 1000 ‘barrels’ to the Dubai market, along with 4000 WCs and bidets and more than 1600 baths and whirltubs. Duravit products were also installed in the sanitary areas of the Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The company delivered more than 1,370 individual items to Abu Dhabi.
