Abdulla Ahmed Nass set up his Bahrain-based self titled firm 50 years ago. The Nass Group was established in 1963 after Nass returned home from Saudi Arabia having completed ten years working in the contracting industry.

The Nass Group was soon undertaking major construction projects and as the business grew so did the firm’s need for a reliable local source of construction services such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery contracting and of materials like cement, sand, aggregate and concrete. In the 1970’s Nass set up a group of companies to provide these services and materials. During the 1990s he further expanded the group to meet the growing demand for shipping and offshore industries, and also entered the food import and wholesale business for the first time.

The 1990s resulted in a further diversification of the business when Nass launched a prefabricated piping assembly, sweet water and ice, landscaping, organic fertiliser manufacture and a specialist shipyard (the only one in the Gulf to have totally engineered and built a jack-up oil platform rig) being added to the Nass Group’s activities.

The group has affiliate offices in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE to support further expansion.

Completed projects include Amwaj Island bridges, Riffa Views Golf Course and Durrat Al Bahrain bridges.
