ARN leads listenership ratings in UAE

A recent survey by independent research company Ipsos has shown that seven radio stations of Arabian Radio Network (ARN) are leading in listenership ratings for this year in the UAE.

The survey points to the fact that the network has got a number of accolades this year.

Reacting to the findings of the survey, Mahmoud Al Rasheed, general manager, ARN, said: “The survey results, which testify to our leading status in the industry, will motivate us further to build on our successes in 2010 and keep ARN as the broadcast network of choice for every person.”

The Ipsos MediaCT radiometry survey was conducted between October 12 and November 8 on a sample of 2,819 people of the ages of 15 years and above from across the country. The survey used the Computer Aided Telephone Interview (CATI) method to reach its findings.

The survey has also revealed Virgin Radio Dubai 104.4 to be the leading English radio station in the UAE.
ARN’s City 101.6 is Dubai’s most listened to Asian station as well as the top Indian channel in the UAE, with the highest share of listeners in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

It has also been rated as the number one station for listeners between the ages of 35 and 44 years.

Al Arabiya 99.0 has been found to be the leading Arabic music station for Arabs in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

When it comes to news or talk radio stations, Dubai Eye 103.8 has been placed at the top by the Ipsos survey, which has also ranked Hit 96.7 as the leading radio station among Malayalam listeners in the UAE.
